Jonathon & Nikita’s Leeds pre-wedding shoot

Pre-wedding photography shoots are a great way to get to know your photographer, especially for those couples who might be a little apprehensive about being photographed by a professional photographer on their wedding day, after all, it’s not something you would normally do in your everyday lives, so making that decision to have a pre-wedding shoot is a great way to banish those thoughts of the unknown and preconceptions of actually what it’s going to be like having a wedding photographer documenting your wedding day.  It’s also a  fantastic way  to get to know your photographer too. He or she will probably be spending most of the day with you, so this is a great opportunity to get to know them a little better, and on the plus side you will get some really cool photos of yourselves as a couple before you get married.

I arranged to meet up with Jonathon and Nikita in Leeds City centre, for their pre-wedding session. We met up outside Leeds train station, where we grabbed a coffee and chatted for 10-15 mins about their April wedding day at the fabulous Rossington Hall in Doncaster. With the caffeine well and truly kicking in, we headed out into the streets of Leeds.

I don’t really have a set plan or route to where I start taking pictures. I like to get my inspiration from just walking around, looking out for interesting light and moments with interesting backgrounds which relate to the context of the couple and just letting the couple be themselves, with plenty of hugs and laughter thrown into the mix, everything is super relaxed and the couples really enjoy it, any pre conceptions they might have had about being photographed on their wedding day just fade away

So this is Jonathans & Nikiti’s City Centre pre wedding shoot on a chilli, February, Sunday afternoon in Leeds.
