Ye Olde Bell Wedding

Amy & Calum’s Ye Olde Bell wedding was an absolute blast from start to finish. From the moment I walked into the bridal suite where all of Amy’s bridesmaids were getting ready, to when I exited the kilt adorned hedonistic dance floor late on in the evening, I knew this was going to be a wedding day & night to remember!

What really made this day special for me personally was that there were so many familiar faces from previous weddings I’d photographed before, especially amongst the bridesmaids. So with the bridal party in full getting ready mode, it was time to head over to the bar to find Calum and his English/Scottish entourage.

With the early May weather just about holding out for an outside ceremony in the beautiful grounds of the Ye Olde Bell, it was time for Amy & Calum to finally say “I do” in front of their 150 excited wedding guests. With the ceremony over, it was time to relax with their guests, hugs, squeezes and kisses were in abundance as Amy and Calum’s family and friends gathered round to congratulate the newlywed couple.

I get asked quite a lot if I do family formal shots, the answer is always yes, although I very rarely show them on my social media posts or my website. I think personally we are all leading busy, transient lifestyles, were increasingly we are seeing less and less of each other, so what better place to take a couple of family photos were everyone’s happy and looking their best, so with the formal photos taken it was time to whisk Amy & Calum away for a little bit of couple time photos. Now before the wedding, Calum had warned me he didn’t like his photo being taken! Judging from the photos I think he enjoyed it a lot more than he thought he would. (Maybe a new career path there Calum?)

Next up were the speeches which flowed with Scottish and English banter much to the delight of the transfixed wedding crowd. With the cake cutting and first dance done, it was time for the party to start! The dance floor was packed solid with movers and groovers, young and old, shapeshifting grannies to full on Saturday night fever wannabes, this lot had come to party!

Amy & Calum, thank you so much for putting your trust in me. It was an absolute pleasure photographing your wedding day!
