Peak District Pre-wedding photography

Neil & Jenny are tying the knot this year, but before any of that wedding awesomeness can take place it was time to meet up with them both for their pre-wedding shoot.

Living in Sheffield, the Peak District was a natural choice for their pre-wedding shoot and I can see why. I have photographed many of these sessions in the Peak District and each time I do it makes me feel truly grateful that we have this beautiful landscape on our doorstep for everyone to enjoy.

Let’s get started! We are rewinding back to the first week in February this year, it’s 9.30 am and the temperature in my car is displaying -1 outside and the sun is shining brightly without a trace of a  cloud in the crisp morning sky!..

So with all pre-wedding sessions, it starts off with a walk and a natter about the big day! The first thing I need to do is get them out of the blinding sunlight, and into the shade. I’m also conscious about making sure Neil & Jenny don’t get too cold so I try and limit the amount of time they have to stand around, although Neil has since said that Jenny had brought along her oven gloves instead of her normal gloves, so at least her hands were nice and warm.

Pre-wedding sessions or engagement shoots are lots of fun, for me and the couple, any preconceptions couples may have had about being photographed on their wedding day just seem to disappear, all they have to do now is choose one photograph to be placed into their signing frame, which will be proudly displayed for people to leave their best wishes

Thanks for having me along Neil & Jenny, really looking forward to photographing your wedding at the Fabulous Secret Garden later on in the year!
