Alexandra & Joanne’s Bawtry wedding day celebration

Back in October last year I had the pleasure of photographing Alex & Jo’s wedding celebration party at the Crown Hotel in Bawtry, Doncaster. I first met Alex at her brother’s wedding a couple of years ago, so when I got a call from her asking if I was available on their particular date I was chuffed to bits. Recommendations are a massive part of my business with over 70% of my bookings coming from previous clients or couples who were guests at weddings that I photographed. Ok, on with this Doncaster wedding in Bawtry at the Crown Hotel…

Alex & Jo got hitched in Hawaii earlyer on in the year, the ceremony took place on a beach against a back drop of white sands, palm trees and the mighty North Pacific Ocean…

So fast forward to October 2018 and the party to end all parties was underway. Alex & Jo had gone to considerable lengths to make it relaxed and fun for all their guests, photo booth, ice-cream cart, live bands, acoustic solo singers, even a metal buzzer game for the cool kids to play with, although the giant Jenga game took some hammer too!!..

The party was set for guests to arrive at 5.00pm, now at this time of year the light fades so quickly, so because of this, we decided to make the photos before the guests arrived. I parked up at the Crown Hotel just after 4 pm. Outside the main entrance, Jo’s uncle Kevin had parked his original 1960’s Morris minor convertible, what a beauty! We had planned for a little road trip out later in this beautiful classic car, something I was quite giddy about!…

Soon after Jo & Alex appeared looking absolutely stunning in their designer dresses mathced up with their Louboutin’s shoes, they were both ready to hit the streets of Bawtry big time!! 10-15 mins later, I was riding shotgun in the passenger seat of the Morris Minor for a little ride out to King’s wood forest for a few more photos.

With the speeches in the bag and the first dance elegantly and beautifully performed it was time to get down and party and boy this crowd had come to do exactly that, with the live band The Silvertones banging out  the classics, the dance floor was just a constant sea of happy folk having the time of their lives.

Most importantly a massive thank you to Alex & Jo for having me along, what a day/night, I absolutely loved it. 😊
